2024:

  Em janeiro, estivemos presentes na reunião que marcou o primeiro ano do consórcio FOREST4EU, organizada pelo Instituto Bávaro para o Campo e Floresta em Freising. Foram 3 dias para recapitular o que já foi feito e planear o que ainda está por fazer. Algumas das atividades a realizar nos próximos meses incluem workshops de priorização com stakeholders e "Policy focus groups", que irão ser organizados em vários países.  O projeto FOREST4EU representa um importante marco para a nossa empresa, e continuaremos a trabalhar e zelar pelo seu sucesso.

A Solutopus teve o privilégio de participar num encontro transformativo acerca de "Competências para um Setor Agrícola de Sucesso e Sustentável". Esta conferência, organizada pela EU CAP Network, explorou de que forma a implementação dos Planos Estratégicos da CAP pode facilitar o desenvolvimento de competências. As discussões foram bastante produtivas e alinhadas perfeitamente com o nosso compromisso com a inovação e excelência.

2024:

- In January we attended FOREST4EU's annual meeting, organised by LWF - Bayerische Landesanstalt für Wald und Forstwirtschaft in Freising. In this 3-day meeting, partners got the chance to discuss about the achievements reached and organise a clear roadmap for future activities, including the prioritisation workshops with stakeholders and the policy focus groups, which will be organised in several countries in the following months.

- Solutopus had the privilege of participating in a transformative meeting focused on Nurturing Skills for a Thriving and Sustainable Agricultural Sector! This meeting, organised by EU CAP Network, explored how the implementation of CAP Strategic Plans can foster skills development. The discussions were not only insightful but also aligned perfectly with our commitment to innovation and excellence.

Continuando a enriquecer a nossa rede de contactos e a nossa presença em fóruns relevantes para o setor agrícola e para o espaço rural (nas suas diversas valências e ligações), fomos aceites como membros de: - Projeto PREMIERE- 100+Clube (https://premiere-multiactor.eu/)- Subgrupo do Mediterrâneo, onde a atenção é muito focada na criação e manutenção de sinergias entre atores relacionados com atividades inovadoras para o espaço rural, considerando a sua envolvência regional. - Projeto PREPSOIL (www.prepsoil.eu), onde a preocupação central é a preparação ou a colaboração em atividades ligadas com a saúde do solo (no âmbito da Missão Solos- União Europeia): aconselhamento técnico, preparação de material para o envolvimento dos cidadãos nestes temas, discussões técnicas, entre outros. - Colaboradores do Projeto português (liderado pela INNOVA+) “FUTURAGRI”, que incidirá sobre a divulgação de vários aspetos da Política Agrícola Comum. - Grupo Temático “Promover competências para um setor agrícola próspero e sustentável”, no âmbito do Pacto Rural Europeu. Aqui a intenção é a produção de recomendações para o desenho e conteúdo das ações de divulgação e de formação dos agentes económicos (agricultores e outros) com atividade no espaço rural europeu . Participámos no Evento do EU CAP Network destinado a desenvolver contactos e parcerias para próximos Projetos e iniciativas de âmbito europeu, com particular destaque para aqueles que possam ser apoiados pelo programa Horizonte Europa. Aconteceu em Antuérpia, em 18-19/10/2023. >> O segundo trimestre de 2023 foi o momento propício para começar a consolidar a nossa participação em diversas redes e discussões, de caráter científico, todos com o objetivo de melhorar o papel da ciência no quotidiano e nas decisões ao nível das Políticas da UE. Chamámos à atenção para o papel de crescente importância das ciências sociais nos campos tradicionalmente apelidados de técnicos, como é o caso dos relacionados com o solo. - Foi o caso da participação nas sessões NatiOOns (https://www.nati00ns.eu/) sobre Laboratórios Vivos (Living Labs) para os solos, no âmbito da Missão Solos da UE. Os Laboratórios Vivos podem ter uma grande influência na evolução da agricultura e da silvicultura, se se verificar a aplicação dos seus princípios e diretrizes centrais - veremos se a academia, os consultores e facilitadores e os agricultores são capazes de os implementar! Também participámos (pela segunda vez) num Workshop regional do Projeto ALL-Ready (https://www.all-ready-project.eu/), em Junho. Novamente, os Laboratórios Vivos são o tema central, neste caso relacionados com a agroecologia. Portugal não tem qualquer parceiro neste Projeto, o que deu mais visibilidade à participação da Solutopus. Fomos selecionados para ser membro ativo da rede SOLO (https://soils4europe.eu/). Confirmamos que o nosso empenho em contribuir para o cuidado do solo pode assumir várias vertentes, desde o campo das ciências sociais (a nossa zona de conforto) até ao envolvimento em atividades mais técnicas.
Participamos na EU AgriResearch Conference (Conhecimento, inovação e competências para horizontes sustentáveis), entre 31/05- 01/06/2023, em Bruxelas (https://agriculture.ec.europa.eu/events/2023-eu-agriresearch-conference-2023-05-31_en). Foi uma boa oportunidade para conhecer potenciais parceiros, discutir questões centrais na atual atividade científica e contribuir para sua agenda futura respetivos apoios. Naturalmente, continuamos empenhados na execução do projeto FOREST4EU e iniciamos o caminho da nossa participação no projeto ECHO (ver respetivas páginas).
A Solutopus esteve presente no encontro organizado pelo EIP-AGRI- EU CAP Network, em Bolonha, em 14-15/03/2023, intitulado “Enhancing food security under changing weather patterns: farm adaptation”. Foi patente o interesse pelo tema das alterações climáticas e pelo seu impacto na produção alimentar. Todos os agentes socioeconómicos, investigadores e políticos ligados à cadeia alimentar e à gestão dos recursos naturais têm uma palavra a dizer e alguma tarefa a cumprir! >>Aconteceu a 1ª reunião do Projeto Horizonte Europa “FOREST4EU”, em Florença. Sobre este assunto, ver a nossa secção “Projetos”.

>> O Projeto SOILL (liderado pela ENOLL) e financiado pelo Horizonte Europa, também foi aprovado! Trata-se de criar condições para a criação e bom funcionamento dos ecossistemas de inovação para as áreas rurais (Living Labs). A Solutopus não participa diretamente neste Projeto; prevê-se que venha a ter, porém, um papel de alguma relevância na edificação do pretendido. Congratulamo-nos com esta importante conquista para a inovação no meio rural!

>> Participamos no encontro promovido pelo EIP/AGRI- EU CAP Network sobre o papel dos Jovens Agricultores no futuro das áreas rurais, em Dublin. O encontro permitiu ter uma visão estratégica sobre os caminhos atuais e futuros do empreendedorismo rural. Não deixe de visitar o site do EIP-AGRI sobre este evento!

Continuing to enrich our network of contacts and our presence in relevant forums to the agricultural sector and to rural areas (in its various aspects and connections), we were accepted as members of:

- PREMIERE Project- 100+Club

(https://premiere-multiactor.eu/)- Mediterranean sub-group, where attention is very focused on creating and maintaining synergies between actors related to innovative activities for rural areas, considering its regional involvement.


- PREPSOIL Project (www.prepsoil.eu), where the central concern is the preparation or collaboration in activities linked to soil health (within the scope of the Soil Mission - European Union): technical advice, preparation of material for the involvement of citizens on these topics, specialized discussions, among others.


- Collaborators of the Portuguese project (led by INNOVA+) “FUTURAGRI”, which will focus on the dissemination of various aspects of the Common Agricultural Policy.


- Thematic Group “Nurturing skills for a thriving and sustainable agricultural sector”, within the scope of the European Rural Pact. Here the intention is to produce recommendations for the design and content of dissemination and training actions for economic agents (farmers and others) active in rural Europe.

We partook in the EU CAP Network Brokerage Event, aimed at developing contacts and partnerships for upcoming European projects and initiatives, with particular emphasis on those that can be supported by the Horizon Europe program. It took place in Antwerp, on 18-19/10/2023.

>>The  second quarter of 2023 was a proper time to begin the consolidation of our participation in several networks and technical/ scientific meetings, all aiming to improve the role of science in the daily life and in the decisions at EU Policy level. We call the attention for the increasing importance of considering the social sciences in the traditionally called “technical matters”, as it is the case of the ones related to the soil. 
- This is the case of the participation in NatiOOns (https://www.nati00ns.eu/) sessions about Living Labs for soils (under the EU Soil Mission). The Living Labs can have a great influence in the evolution of agriculture and forestry, if applying their core principals and guidelines- let’s see if the academia, facilitators and farmers are able to implement it! 
- We also took part (for the second time) in a regional Workshop on behalf the ALL-Ready Project (https://www.all-ready-project.eu/), in June, Again, the Living Las are the central issue, in this case related to agroecology. Portugal has no partner in this Project, what turned more visibility to the Solutopus participation. We were selected to be active member in the SOLO (https://soils4europe.eu/) network. We confirm that our commitment to contribute to soil care may take several directions, in a range from the social sciences field (our comfort zone) to the engagement in more technical activities. 
-We took part in the 2023 EU AgriResearch Conference (Knowledge, innovation and skills for sustainable horizons), between 31/05- 01/06/2023, in Brussels (https://agriculture.ec.europa.eu/events/2023-eu-agriresearch-conference-2023-05-31_en). It was a good opportunity to meet potential partners, to discuss central questions in today’s research and to contribute to its future agenda and support for it. Naturally, we continued the execution of FOREST4EU project and initiated the way of ECHO one (see dedicated pages).
 Solutopus was present at the meeting organized by the EIP-AGRI-EU CAP Network, at Bologna, on 14-15/03/2023, entitled “Enhancing food security under changing weather patterns: farm adaptation”. 
There was a clear interest in the topic of climate change and its impact on food production. All socio-economic agents, researchers and politicians linked to the food chain and the management of natural resources have a word to say and a task to fulfill! Additionally, at this workshop, SOLUTOPUS briefly presented and registered the HE Project “FOREST4EU”, contributing to enhance the awareness on it.

>>The first meeting of the HEurope Project “FOREST4EU” took place in Florence. About this, please see our section “Projects”.


>> The SOILL Project (led by ENOLL) and financed by Horizon Europe, was also approved! It is about creating conditions for the building and proper functioning of innovation ecosystems for rural areas (Living Labs). Solutopus does not participate directly in this Project; it is expected that it will play, however, a role of some relevance in the construction of the intended. We welcome this important achievement for innovation in rural areas!

 >> Still in 2022 (30/11-01/12) we participated in the event EU CAP Network Workshop “Young entrepreneurs - Engines of innovation in rural areas“, Dublin. It allowed to have a broad and strategical view about the trends of rural entrepreneurship in Europe. Visit the event page, in the site of EIP-AGRI!



-We continue to search for new initiatives on the rise to partake in, which we have been doing!


-We are deepening our collaboration with the University of Lisbon / Science Faculty (cE3c), thanks to many partnerships initiatives.
